Each design is rated using our Protection Rating System and backed by industry-leading warranty coverage.
What's in This Collection
Premium Leather MacBook Sleeve
This is the full-grain leather sleeve with our signature Apple window. The window allows the Apple logo to become part of the sleeve's design, a detail that traces directly back to the original MacCase iBook Briefcase launched in 1998. Perimeter bumper piping along three sides absorbs impacts at the corners and along the most vulnerable edges. Color-matched hook and loop closure. Four, custom-fitted, size-specific designs are available for MacBook Pro, MacBook Air M5-M1, and MacBook Neo. Limited Lifetime Warranty.
Jay from Riverside, CA told us about his experience with his Premium Leather MacBook Sleeve:
"Stroke of genius! My first MacCase was the black "nylon" type. I was a little hesitant when I bought it, because the photo made it look a bit curved and thick. It must be an optical illusion, as it is WELL padded but takes up no more room in a briefcase than my previous neoprene sleeve. The small, unnoticeable mesh panel on the back is a stroke of genius. It lets the heat quickly dissipate. The heavy-duty piping around the edges is virtually invisible, but is so protective that your laptop can withstand a drop, on its corner, onto a hard floor (I can testify... I did it... and not a bump, scratch, or malfunction occurred). After this experience, I swore I'd never have anything around my laptop but a MacCase, so I treated myself to the leather one in red. What can I say? Same incredible protection, and looks "rich". The leather shows virtually no wear, no matter how haphazard I sometimes am with it. I love it and recommend to anyone for maximum protection and great looks."

Recently we received a message on social media from professional photographer Otis Harville of Framed Lightscap3s, LLC. He informed us he had written a blog post titled, "The Best Protection Sleeve for Your MacBook Pro." He stated:
"In my opinion, the quality of the MacCase MacBook protective sleeve exceeds anything else out there. The Apple laptop fits into the sleeve very nicely. It's not a tight fit nor is it a snug fit, but it’s a comfortable fit. There's very little movement inside the sleeve, and in fact, the comfortable fit allows for easy entry and removal of the MacBook. The padding and protective edge guard is simply wonderful and the cloth inside it Is very soft. So if you are looking for an awesome protective sleeve to fit your MacBook Pro 14 - look no further."
The Apple Logo Window: A MacCase Original
The Apple window on the Premium Leather MacBook Sleeve is not a decorative afterthought. It is a design element with a 28-year history. MacCase introduced the window on the original iBook Briefcase in 1998. This was the first Apple-specific laptop case ever made. The window transformed the Apple logo from a hidden detail into a visible part of the product's design identity. When MacCase launched our first sleeve as our second product, the window came with it.
Chinese iPhone case manufacturers have since copied the concept, using a literal cutout in the back of their phone cases to expose the Apple logo. The MacCase window is different: it is a precision-cut, automotive-grade clear vinyl precision sewn to the leather opening, designed as a design feature rather than a manufacturing shortcut. The original is still the best.
Why MacCase Sleeves Have No Pockets
MacCase sleeves are intentionally designed without exterior or interior pockets or compartments. This is not an oversight. It is a deliberate protection decision made nearly 30 years ago and never revisited because it has never needed to be.
Interior pockets create two problems. First, they add visual bulk that compromises the sleeve's clean silhouette. Second, and more importantly, hard objects placed inside a sleeve pocket (AC power bricks, adapters, cables with connectors) press directly against the laptop's aluminum enclosure during carry. Over time this causes the very scratches and dents the sleeve is designed to prevent.
MacCase sleeves carry your MacBook and nothing else. For accessories, we make matching leather and nylon accessory pouches that pair with each sleeve keeping your cables and adapters safe, organized and separated from your laptop.
Perimeter Bumper Piping: Impact Protection by Design
The Premium Leather MacBook Sleeve features perimeter bumper piping along three sides of the sleeve opening. This raised leather tubing absorbs impact energy at the edges and corners, the points most vulnerable to damage when a sleeved laptop is set down, bumped, or dropped. It is a structural protection feature, not a decorative trim. The piping is integrated into the sleeve's construction, not applied as an afterthought.
Open-Top Design: Built for Travelers
The MacBook nylon sleeve uses an open-top design with no zipper or closure at the laptop opening. This was a direct response to customer feedback from frequent travelers, specifically the stress of TSA security lines where laptops must be removed from bags quickly and replaced just as fast. A zippered sleeve adds friction to that process. The open-top design eliminates it entirely: slide the MacBook out, send it through, slide it back in. No zipper to catch, no closure to fumble with under pressure.
MacBook Sleeve Compatibility
Both MacCase sleeves come in 4 custom-fit sizes are compatible with MacBook Pro 14-inch and 16-inch, MacBook Air M5, M4, M3, M2, and M1 in 13-inch and 15-inch, and MacBook Neo. Check individual product listings for model-specific sizing. Go to Apple menu → About This Mac to confirm your exact model before ordering.

Who Uses a MacBook Sleeve
Premium Leather MacBook Sleeve
Our leather sleeve is chosen by professionals who carry their MacBook Pro to client meetings, boardrooms, and business travel and who want an accessory that reflects the same standard as the machine inside it. It is also the choice of anyone who appreciates fine leather goods: the way full-grain leather feels in the hand, the smell, the way it develops a patina that makes each piece unique over time, and the quiet confidence of carrying something built to last decades rather than a month or two. If you own a leather MacCase bag or briefcase, the leather sleeve completes the system.
MacBook Nylon Sleeve
The nylon sleeve is chosen by students who carry their MacBook Air between classes, labs, and coffee shops. It is chosen by photographers, videographers, and field creatives who need lightweight protection that can handle the pace of location work without adding bulk to an already heavy kit. It is chosen by commuters who need a sleeve that goes into a backpack in the morning and comes out at a TSA checkpoint without drama. rPET nylon is tough, weather-resistant, and built from recycled post-consumer plastic.
Expert Insight: Michael Santoro on MacBook Sleeves
We asked multi-award-winning designer and MacCase President and Chief Creative Officer Michael Santoro about designing MacBook sleeves:
"A sleeve was the second product we launched in 1998 after the original iBook Briefcase. The Apple window came from the briefcase. It was such a strong design element that we owned and customers of the cases loved, so it migrated over to our MacBook laptop sleeves. The window turns the Apple logo into part of the design rather than something hidden. Unlike PC users, Apple owners have an emotional connection to their devices. The window is a unique element that allows for that emotional connection to be present even when their MacBook is put away. The no-pockets decision is one we've never second-guessed. In almost 30 years we have never had a warranty claim on a sleeve. That's not an accident. It's what happens when you design for the laptop's protection first and everything else second."

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best MacBook sleeve for travel?
The MacCase rPET nylon MacBook sleeve specifically because of its open-top design. Frequent travelers told us that zippered sleeves create unnecessary friction at TSA security checkpoints where laptops must be removed and replaced quickly. The open-top design eliminates that friction entirely. It is also lightweight, weather-resistant, and available in vertical or horizontal orientation to match your travel bag.
Does a MacBook sleeve replace a MacBook case?
No, they serve different purposes and work best together. A MacBook hard shell case stays on the laptop and protects it during use and handling. A sleeve protects the laptop inside a bag from abrasion, pressure, and transit damage. The sleeve is removed when you use the laptop; the case is not. For maximum protection, use a MacCase Hybrid hard shell case on the laptop and a MacCase sleeve inside your bag.
Why do MacCase sleeves have no interior or exterior pockets?
By design. Hard objects like AC adapters, cables, connectors, placed inside a sleeve pocket press directly against the laptop's aluminum enclosure during carry and can cause scratches and dents the sleeve is meant to prevent. MacCase sleeves carry your MacBook and nothing else. For accessories, MacCase makes matching leather and nylon accessory pouches that pair with each sleeve, keeping cables and adapters safe, organized and separated from your laptop.
What is the Apple logo window on the MacCase leather sleeve?
The Apple logo window is made from automotive-grade vinyl (the same material used for the rear window on luxury convertible tops). It's a precision-cut opening in the leather that allows the MacBook's Apple logo to show through and become part of the sleeve's design. It originated on the MacCase iBook Briefcase in 1998 (the first Apple-specific laptop case ever made) and has been a MacCase design signature ever since.
What warranty do MacCase MacBook sleeves carry?
The Premium Leather MacBook Sleeve carries a Limited Lifetime Warranty covering workmanship defects during normal use. The MacBook nylon sleeve carries a 10-year warranty on seams and material defects. No MacCase warranty covers normal wear. In nearly 30 years of production, MacCase has never had a warranty claim on a sleeve. Warranty terms apply to the original purchaser.
